Hi! I’m Kirsten “K.R.” Sexton, an illustrator + designer of sorts currently residing in sunny Laguna Beach, CA but originally from the San Francisco Bay Area. I have a serious, contagious passion for all things design: Illustration, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Fashion, Photography, Video, EVERYTHING. I try to jump at every opportunity that allows me to follow these passions. My favorite methods to create are with pen & ink, Photoshop & Illustrator.
I graduated from Cal State Fullerton with a B.F.A. degree in Illustration; during those years you could have found me roaming around the art department or planning and leading events for the Pencil Mileage Club (Animation/Illustration club), which are some of my most fondest memories. After graduating from college, I opened my own online art shop which has become one of my proudest accomplishments. My artwork has sold in over 44 states in America, as well as Canada, Australia, Germany, Italy, Chile, Ireland, Croatia, and Portugal, as well as others. Besides creating artwork, I also hosted live art streams explaining my artistic process, made videos sharing my knowledge about being an Etsy seller, all while continuing to enhance my design abilities.
Currently I’m a designer for the fashion industry by day and entrepreneur by night/weekends. I’ve had the opportunity to design for Walt Disney Imagineering in Anaheim, CA and also produce designs for local restaurants in Carlsbad, CA.
Some of my other interests:
Thrift shops. Watching films with quirky interior design and clothing. Watching films in general. The tiny house movement. My boyfriend Chris and our perfectly-compatible weirdness. Our black cat “Seelie” who is equally as weird. Vintage items. Trips to the library. Living a vegetarian lifestyle. Self-exploration. Buying pens I don’t need. Mugs, I can’t stop buying them. Nancy Drew computer games (lover since childhood). Being surrounded by creatives.
A passionately curious person, I am constantly finding new interests to fall in love with, even if just for a short period of time. I will dwell on these little infatuations in the Blog section, so be sure to check back periodically!
